Okay, so not only I’m in love with Marvel and College Basketball, but reality TV is on my list of favorites. Well, at least Survivor is. I’ve been a big fan of Survivor since Season 1. Don’t judge. Yes, I know it’s pretty much the same thing every season but I just love this show. I love the idea of bringing a group of strangers, that have to work together to survive. The strategies, back stabbing, alliance and hidden immunity idols get me into every episode that I have to watch it every week. Not only that, but, the people that play the game…they are very entertaining to watch.
Now, here we are in season 31! This is definitely an exciting season of all returning players that one thing in common: they have all played the game once. They were voted by the fans of America to come back and have a shot at the title of sole survivor and the 1 million dollars. It seems just yesterday that the game started with 20 returning contestants, but now we are down to 6 left and the finale going to air next week. It’s definitely going to be an exciting finale to watch.
So, this episode, in my opinion, definitely drew the line on where the alliances stand. No more of the voting blocks (I think). You can sense there is a strong bond between Spencer, Jeremy and Tasha with Kimmi tagging along with them. Kelly and Keith are on the bottom 2 since Abi-Maria was voted out. Kimmi hasn’t really played a solid game, if she were to have a “shot” at this game, she would need to rally with Kelly and Keith and pull Spencer in order to get rid of the top dogs, Tasha and Jeremy. One exciting factor to consider is that Jeremy has an idol and Kelly has an idol too. I think they have up 2 more votes until they can play their idols. Once there is a final 4, hidden idols can no longer be played. Jeremy and Kelly need to play smart about this. No one knows that either of them have idols so they need to make sure that they play this right or they’ll get voted off with idols in their back pocket.
The challenges in this episode were fun to watch. First, the reward challenge. I thought it was absolutely hysterical to see Kieth, a 53 year old man, beat 7 kids. I’m sure the exhaustion settled in after they had to undo those ropes, but come on! Kids should have way more energy than him lol. The immunity challenge looked really difficult. Not the puzzle portion, but the obstacle course. Seeing Tasha drown was frightening to see. You can see that going 30 days with out food, its going to wear you out. Poor Tasha swallowed all that salt water and she had no energy to fight it. Thank goodness that she looked ok after the challenge was over. Kudos to Spencer for sticking to it and solving the easiest puzzle in the history of Survivor to win immunity.
Like I said before, the lines were drawn. Keith, Abi and Kelly were trying to get out Tasha while Jeremy, Tasha and Kimmi were gunning for Abi, making Spencer the swing vote. In the end, Spencer sided with his ally Jeremy and got Abi out. 6 left, it’ll be a finale you won’t want to miss!
