What a finale! Being a fan of this show since season 1, this season was no different. There is so much to talk about, especially that Tribal Council where Kimmi was ultimately given the snuffed torch.
After viewing that Tribal, I knew it is now easily the top 5 tribal councils of all time. The events prior the tribal council was interesting to see as well. After Spencer won immunity, in only made sense for Kimmi to make her move. All along it was Jeremy, Tasha, Spencer and Kimmi calling the shots and being in the power position. Kimmi, however, was pretty much at the bottom and really made no big moves, won immunity challenges and had no social game. Now the reason why Kimmi didn’t target Tasha was because she knew she has a better chance of winning against her in the end. She had to get rid of Jeremy, king of the castle, but little did she know that he has an idol. It was so frustrating to see that Jeremy talk about how he still trusts her and wasn’t going to play the idol. I just hate it so much when players get voted out with idols in their back pocket. For the tight 3 of Jeremy, Tasha and Spencer, they knew they had to get rid of Kelly. She won numerous immunity challenges, had a hidden immunity idol and a good social game as well. When it was down to 6, they really couldn’t split votes because we are now down to allegiances instead of voting blocks. At tribal, I was relieved that Kelly played her idol, because of 2 things. 1, it allowed Jeremy to realize that know one is safe, and it made him play his too. 2, now that Kelly is not safe with the idol in her pocket, she had to win that next challenge in order to win the grand prize. It was so great to see that no one wasn’t going to change their vote. Jeremy was MAD that Kimmi betrayed the alliance so of course the 3 were going to vote for her. At the deadlock, it was up to Spencer, Jeremy, Kelly and Kieth to come together and figure out who is to go. Because of the rules of survivor, Kimmi and Tasha had no say since the votes were tied of them. If they can’t come to agreement, then they were to draw rocks but Kimmi and Tasha don’t. Here’s the thing of the 4, Spencer, Jeremy, and Kelly are safe because of idols and immunity, leaving Keith to draw the lone white rock. TALK ABOUT CRAZY! Unfortunately, long story short, Kelly wanted Keith around because he was the only person he trusts so Kimmi was ultimately voted out.
With the 3 still intact, they voted out Kieth at the next tribal since Kelly won the immunity challenge. Even though I favored Jeremy at this point, I wanted Kieth to play that idol to shake things up and see where that vote was going to go. However, he didn’t and he easily laid down his torch.
At the final immunity challenge, I was holding my breath because I wanted Jeremy to win to seal that million dollar check. But going up against a challenger in Kelly, it was going to be tough. I was relieved when I saw Kelly be the first one out of the challenge. I thought she was going to focus and make sure she was going to win at all costs. She was probably thinking to much and all that pressure got to her. Seeing Jeremy, finally get that win and first immunity win, I thought he just won the million dollars right there. However, after the challenge, Kelly and Spencer were the 2 begging at Jeremy’s mercy. I knew that if Jeremy took Kelly to the end, it would be close between Jeremy and Kelly since those two played a solid game. Spencer, in my opinion, did not play his game well. Yes, he got some good players out, but he was arrogant and selfish through out it all and he definitely displayed it at tribal. That night, he was being a bully to Kelly saying to Jeremy “If you take her to the end, I will do everything in my power to make sure she wins.” Not a very good statement to make, Spencer. So, thankfully, Jeremy took Spencer and Tasha with him.
When the votes were read, I was happy to hear that Jeremy received all 10 votes. I was definitely team Jeremy around merge time. When he had those 2 idols, I knew that if he played them right that he was guaranteed winner. The first when he saved Fishback. He needed people that he trusts. Showing that kind of loyalty and playing idols for his alliance definitely helped his game. Playing his second idol was played at the right time…read my first paragraph 😉 Even though Jeremy didn’t win any immunity challenges up until the last one, he definitely had the social game. His social game was really great. Creating bond with Tasha in the beginning and opening up to Spencer later on the game furthered his ultimate game plan. I felt so bad for him in the last 15 days because at every reward challenge that had food, he and his team lost. He was literally dying out on that island with no great reward wins. I was extremely impressed how he kept his cool and just continued playing for his family. I was really touched by how we was doing everything for his Wife, 2 kids and his son thats on the way. On the family visit, I almost cried when his wife told him that it was a boy. I can’t imagine what that must’ve been like for him. He’s out there on the island, starving and giving his all for his family. It paid off 🙂 Congrats to Jeremy and being the sole survivor!
This season was just crazy. Seeing the preview for next season, I can see it will be just as crazy. Having just one medical evacuation is disappointing but seeing that there will be multiple….the game is going kick everyone’s butt. Returning the theme of Brain v Brawn v Beauty is a great idea. The first go around was fun to see and Brawn prevailed. Guess we will see which group will win this time 🙂 Til then!
