Hello everyone! I know I am a week late on this but I’d figure I will give my review on both episodes on Survivor: Brain vs Brawn vs Beauty. My favorite reality show is back and I can’t wait to see how this season will play. According to reviews, this season will be the toughest season yet for the players as they battle against the elements.
Episode 1: Usually when the first episode airs, I usually give my first impressions on each cast away and think about how their personality will help or destroy their game. The brain tribe seems really legit compared to the Brain tribe in Cagayan Season. I have good vibes towards Peter and Joe. Peter is doctor, more specifically in ER. I feel like with that background he will be able to think on his feet quickly and add that to Survivor. He is also really strong, which could help him later on. Joe, a retired FBI agent, is another favorite, I think. He is a senior citizen, but he is like the modern day Hulk! He’s very smart, witty and using those years in the FBI could really help his game. Debbie (I will give her the nick name “Miss Know It All”) is driving me crazy lol. She just loves to talk about ALL the things she’s been in and how much knows in every day life. She really has no game…perfect choice to take to the end. The Brawn tribe. No doubt that Kyle and Scot are the alpha males on the tribe. Former NBA and bounty hunter will no doubt use their muscle to win this game. Looking at Cydney is really scary lol. The beauty tribe is pretty hysterical. We got the former Big Brother contestant that I think will use his charm to win over the ladies, I could probably say the same for personal trainer Nick. We got the little gay asian man who is so sensitive nature and won’t kill the bugs that are attacking his skin. I find it funny that the guys on this tribe are all different from each other and it’ll be interesting how they cope with one another. At the first challenge it was Brain and Beauty that came up on top sending Brawn to tribal. Darnell losing the mask in the beginning of the challenge and Alecia not contributing were factors that made them lose. Tribal was intense with both Darnell and Alecia pleading to their tribe to not vote them out. My theory on survivor game play will never change. I believe at the beginning of the game, you take out those hurting your tribe. When the game hits at the merge, you start taking out the threats. Darnell did make a mistake but he is muscle that you need later on. Alecia did not show that. She wouldn’t help push the boat and did not contribute in the puzzle. Alecia is the one to go. However, Brawn tribe did not hear me through the tv screen and voted out Darnell.
Episode 2: This episode was pretty hilarious. Tai trying to kiss Caleb, miss know it all bragging more about what she knows and alpha males still running their show. It was surprising that Tai found the idol. However, he does not physically have it yet. It’s awesome that the game of Survivor is always changing. Rather than digging up a hole and getting the idol, they now have to use a tool to get to a high tree that contains a key for the box that has the idol. Tai was trying so hard to climb that tree but he couldn’t. It’ll fun to see how and when he will get the idol. Another surprising event was that Alecia started fire for her tribe. No one helped her. She used that machete and flint for 5 hours to get it started. Proving her worth just skyrocketed on the tribe. At the challenge, Brain and Brawn emerged victorious sending Brawn back to tribal. (Remember when I said keep the strong, send the week? Told ya so Brawn) They didn’t do anything wrong, they just got outplayed. Now, you think that Alecia would be the next to go right? Wrong. That was the plan, the two alpha males plus Cydney and Jenny would vote her out. But, Jenny had different plans. She wants Kyle gone because he’s annoying and she senses that both him and Scot are controlling things at their tribe. She told Alecia and Cyd her plan and they were ready to do it. However, paranoia starts to set in and Jenny withholds the plan. Poor Jenny got outed at tribal thank to Jeff Probst’s annoyance. Jenny tried so hard to lie and plead that she will never betray them again and that she is stronger than Alecia. However, her lies and betrayal got her torch snuffed and sent her packing. Thus, leaving Alecia to survive 3 more days. It must be tough to be on the Brawn tribe. It’s a reason why they are not on the Brain tribe. They just got rid of 2 strong people that, I think, will ultimately hurt their game. Without numbers, you can’t win the individual game and you surely won’t win tribal games either. Usually when there are 3 tribes, a tribe switch is definitely on the horizon. If that happens, the rest of the brawn tribe will be left with people that are not on their side and will probably get their torch snuffed soon. No doubt.
First 2 episodes were definitely entertaining. I’m anxious to see when the elements will ultimately hurt the players. Timing and luck are the 2 factors that help a player win the game of survivor. To see so many castaways leave due to medical evacuations and other serious injury…it’s going to be hard to see in the long run
