Well, I think “The Singularity” was the appropriate title for this week’s episode on Agents of SHIELD. Of course, I’m referencing Fitz and Simmons. The official couple think way too much, especially Fitz. He’s always thinking and bringing science and his intellect when it comes to his feelings towards Jemma. But, I thought it was cute when he used the term, singularity to describe what he’s feeling and what the outcome will be if he and Simmons continue this relationship together. The singularity was pretty much the defining moment towards the end of the episode.
Besides the intense build up between Fitz and Simmons, we also got to see Daisy reunite with Ward/Hive again. I got to say that it was quite interesting to see them together this time around and have a calm conversation. Now, if Daisy wasn’t under the influence of Hive she probably would’ve gone full earthquake on him at the site of seeing him. It was funny that he was calling her Skye and not by her real name. Ward didn’t really know about her true identity so it was fun bringing that back into the mix. Hive is definitely getting stronger, recruiting Alisha and James and getting them under his influence. We were also introduced to the weird, Kree artifact that was hidden in James’ home. Hive says that “it’s the only thing that can kill me.” This artifact is somehow linked to the orb so I’m sure we will find out what it does in the last 4 episodes. Hive’s motives are revealed that he bought a town with Malick’s remaining fortune and plans to use it to recreate the original Kree experiments that made the inhumans. Looks like he’s definitely building an army to end civilization on Earth.
The other turning point of the episode was when Talbot and the ATCU use Malick’s last Intel to dismantle all remaining Hydra’s infrastructure. I really want to believe that Hydra is completely dismantled but ever since the events in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I highly doubt that Hydra is gone. “Cut off one head, 2 more shall take its place”, remember that?
Next week, the stakes will continue to rise. The death of a certain agent is drawing near. And, after next week’s episode premieres, Captain America: Civil War will be released in the U.S. So, we will see the repercussions the following week. Might I add that Baron Zemo will play a factor in all of this. In the comics, he was a major villain against Captain America and a loyal member to Hydra. It’s very possible he is a member of Hydra and during the events of Civil War, he will do what he can to bring Hydra back to full force. We will also get to see an exclusive scene of Civil War after next weeks episode. Down to 8 days left. We’re almost there everyone!
