Crazy would be an understatement to describe last night’s episode of Agents of SHIELD. The climatic point of Daisy coming close to kill her own partner, Mack, was very hard to watch. Mack had very good reasoning to confront Daisy. The facial recognition software Daisy created allowed the SHIELD team to find them easily. It was a little sign of hope for Mack that the “real” Daisy is fighting off Hive’s control and break free. It didn’t appear so when Mack showed up, disintegrated the Kree body and allowed Daisy to go full earthquake on him. What bothers me is how Daisy is there and she has the memories of her friends but the Hive control just releases the inner inhuman feeling she has.
Love can go so far, and Lincoln was willing to risk everything to save Daisy. Despite Coulson and Fitz Simmons’ warning, he went ahead and tried to use the inhuman cure on himself. Being a powerful inhuman, he seems so powerless at this point. He was framed by Daisy a couple weeks ago, didn’t reach Alisha in time to rescue her from Hive’s control and can’t prove his worth to see if the cure could work. Hopefully down the stretch on the last 3 episodes, Lincoln can somehow bring back Daisy that we all know and love.
We also got to see more of Hive’s back story. Back in the early stages of human life, he was just a hunter until he was captured by the Kree and transformed him into an inhuman. Now, present day, he wants to recreate those Kree experiments and build an inhuman army. The experimentation, though, was failed by Dr. Radcliffe and it left Hive no choice but to send out a distress signal to bring 2 Kree bounty hunters. It was pretty cool to see them in action again (previously shown in Guardians of the Galaxy). It turns out that Hive needs their blood to correct the experimentation. Although, Shield disintegrated the 2 Kree bodies, Daisy offered as tribute (see what I did there) to use her blood. Back in season 1, Daisy was injected with Kree blood so that blood remains in her system.
The stakes continue to get higher and higher by episode. Daisy is willing to sacrifice herself so that Hive can create his army of inhumans. Shield really needs to figure out a plan, and fast. Obviously, the point blank shot against Hive didn’t work so they need to do better. The death of the SHIELD agent is drawing near and I’m sure it’s going to be big the way that the episodes are showing now.
While other countries have the pleasure of seeing Captain America: Civil War now, the great nation of the United States get the same pleasure in 2 more days. 1 day if you’re seeing the 7pm showing in select theaters. It’s crazy because the Wikipedia pages already posted the plot of this movie, and I’ve heard that the post credit scenes have leaked on the internet. A friend of mine actually found the entire movie leaked out online. Great. Thanks, World, for not letting us not have our fun and releasing spoilers like that. Thankfully, I managed to let myself not see those spoilers…just have to get through one more day. It’s almost here.
What do you guys think of the episode?
Thanks for reading!
