This week is finale week for the CW’s The Flash and Arrow. I’ll remind you guys that while I think DC movies are average/subpar, I think that the TV universe I doing great. It all started with Arrow. Watching the first season made me want more. The darker vibe set in this universe was appealing, the cast was amazing and the story telling was great. After two successful seasons, the CW launched The Flash series after the titular character, Barry Allen, was introduced on Arrow. At first, I didn’t watch The Flash because it wasn’t as appealing to me. After some crossover episodes, I had to watch it to see what the fuss is all about and I’m glad I did. Then the CW launched Legends of Tomorrow who had their season finale last week and it will continue from here as the 2nd of season of Supergirl will air on CW next fall.
Last week’s episode of Flash was definitely a turning point for the season. Barry and his team successfully managed to rally up Zoom’s henchmen and lock them away. The speedforce inside Barry definitely changed his attitude. He’s very confident that Zoom will be defeated and his team will do that. It’s one thing to be confident but to have a straight narrow mind that Barry has is another. That mind set cost Barry when Zoom changed everything in Barry’s life. Spoiler alert. It was this episode that we had to say good-bye to Barry’s father, which was killed by Zoom in the exact house that his mother died in too. Now that tomorrow is the season finale, there’s no wondering what will happen. Vengeance is clearly on Barry’s mind. We still don’t know who that masked man that’s locked up in Zoom’s cellar. Also, Barry revealed his identity in front of Wally when he tried to chase after Zoom. Wally has definitely changed throughout this season. After being saved by the Flash, he wants to good to others too. In the comics, Wally West was Kid Flash. So, there is some sort of build up to go into that direction if the show decides to do that. There’s no telling what will happen tomorrow night. The showdown between the Flash and Zoom is something that can’t be missed. One thing for certain is that the identity of the masked man will be revealed.
Like Damien Darhk said to Oliver, “You’re going to need bigger arrows.” He’s going to need them if he plans to take down Darhk for good. Thankfully, team Arrow along with Felicity’s dad, Noah, shut down Rubicon for good. I’ll remind that Rubicon is the program that Dhark planned to use nuclear weapons to destroy the world. Felicity and Noah managed to stop all missiles except for one. Dhark also had an underground city filled with citizens and a captured Thea as well. Oliver and Diggle rescue her but in the process Dhark’s wife, Ruve, was killed. No doubt that Oliver will face a very angry Dhark in the finale. It makes me wonder how on earth Oliver can defeat Dhark now that he’s back in full power magician mode. Not only Dhark is in the way but Malcolm Merlyn is too. It’s awesome to see Merlyn go through this journey the past 4 seasons. His place in Oliver’s life is interesting. In the comics, the Dark Arrow/Merlyn is public enemy #1 for Oliver. I just wonder if his place right now in season 4 is setting him up to be that ultimate baddie in future seasons. Yes, he is still Oliver’s sister’s father but his actions don’t win him father of the year. I can’t wait until Wednesday to see what happens.
After this week, the fan base will have to wait several months until our shows come back for the next season. While 3 existing DC shows are coming back, the CW will introduce the second season of Supergirl. I didn’t take the time to watch it on CBS because it didn’t appeal to me at all. I did watch the Flash episode, just to see what the connection was. On that episode, Barry traveled to a different earth where he met Supergirl. I just wonder how they’ll integrate this series to the shows that we know. The producer of these shows stated that the 4 shows will come together for a cross over series. If done right, I believe that we will be watching the Justice League on TV (even though it won’t have the core members). There’s a lot to look forward to and I guess I’ll have to watch the first season of Supergirl to get caught up.
I’m excited and sad that finale week is here. I want to see these shows end with a bang but I also don’t look forward to a summer without em haha. Interesting read, are you currently sharing your work on any other movie/tv platforms?

Same here! Even though I hate seeing these shows end, its always something to look forward to in the fall! I’m not really putting my work into other tv shows/movies. Just mostly in the Marvel/DC entertainment and my favorite reality show, Survivor (season finale was last week). I might expand since those shows are in their season finales!
