Like I said, you can’t predict the game of Survivor. It’s always changing and the people on the bottom are ready to make a move.
A couple weeks ago, I put a post regarding the pre merge and power rankings. Now that 4 people have been voted out since the merge, there’s definitely a switch of power especially from the Jessica vote last week.
Just to recap, it seemed that Jay had the power after the Michaela vote and having a one person advantage over Gen X. However, the minority alliance of Hannah, Adam and Zeke teamed up with the Gen X tribe to vote out Michelle and Taylor, leaving Jay and Will on the bottom. Since the minority alliance and Gen X had the power, it was only a matter of time that the core group started to turn on each other. Chris, Bret and Sunday targeted Jessica while David, Jessica and Ken targeted Chris. The minority Millennials group sided with David and voted out Chris.
Prior to the final 9, last week’s tribal council was definitely the most powerful, intense scene I ever saw on Survivor. The remaining 10 became a full-on civil war rather than the obvious easy vote against Jay. All of a sudden it became a war between Zeke and David, the 2 most powerful players in the game. David and his allies of Hannah, Adam, Ken and Jessica went up against Zeke and his pawns Bret, Sunday, Will and Jay. Since no one didn’t want to change their vote, it came down to drawing rocks. Prior to the dreaded rock pulling, Zeke tried so hard to convince Jessica to switch her vote. I could tell by the look on her face that she didn’t want to pull rocks but wanted to remain loyal to her alliance. In the end, karma was a bitch and Jessica pulled the black rock, sending her home.
In my mind, Jessica should’ve definitely switched her vote. It ended up costing her the game. On my previous power ranking, she was low. I didn’t see anything from her to prove she deserves the million dollars. I guess she was counting on the fact that the legacy advantage would win her the game, but it takes a lot more than that. If she would’ve voted for Hannah, it would’ve build her resume more to stand out to the Jury. Now that she’s gone, the rest of the game should be definitely interesting. Here are my updated power rankings.
Zeke is now on THE top. He’s built relationships since day 1 and really knows how to get information and people on his side. That’s why he’s David’s public enemy #1. Zeke has a 5-4 advantage over David and I would love to see Zeke go all the way. He’s playing a smart game.
Like Zeke, David still has power on his side. He’s got Hannah, Ken and Adam still with him and he could probably pull in someone from Zeke’s side to get the upper hand. However, David lost his immunity idol from the last tribal council so his safeguard is lost and only the people around him to rely on.
Hearing Adam’s method of gameplay makes me cringe but I’ll put him at the top of the list anyway, maybe his ideology might pay off. He stupidly told Taylor about his advantage allowing him to steal a person’s reward. Taylor then told the rest of the tribe at tribal council which back fired against Adam. He told David to play his idol for Ken but it should’ve been played for Hannah. He thinks he’s playing a solid game right now but I haven’t seen anything remarkable from him. Sorry Adam
- Jay & Will
Just when I expected Jay to be gone already, he’s still finding cracks to stay alive. Jay has played a solid game. He organized the Michaela vote, won a few immunity challenges and managed to stay alive within a dominate Gen X led tribe. Don’t count him out just yet. And also Will. The high schooler is pretty much Jay’s right hand man turning into Zeke’s b***. We’ll see if these 2 will have enough power to over through David and Zeke.
I’m starting to believe that Hannah is becoming David’s pawn and going along for the ride. Although, she does have some fight in her. She was bold enough to turn away from Zeke and side with David. She’s allowing them to take control of the game.
- Sunday and Bret
The 2 most loyal to Zeke. We’ll see how far these 2 go. If they’re smart, they should side with Hannah and Adam to over throw the kings.
Only hope for Ken now is the legacy advantage, that’s if he’s still in the game on day 36.
Tonight looks like it will be the loved ones visit episode. I’ll be watching very carefully, especially you Adam. If you steal their reward, you will be the most hated man in Survivor. Should be fun!
