It wasn’t easy but America’s votes are in and the nation’s top 10 will perform next week to win the $1,000,000 and a headline show in Las Vegas. It’s hard to believe that next week is the finale. It seems just yesterday, I was watching the acts during audition week and now, the win is within reach for the contestants. In this post, I’ll be breaking down the top 10 acts and give my opinion on who should win the headline show. First, like I’ve said numerous times, this was a tough season in the singing category. There were so many good singers that went through and now 5 of the top 10 acts are singers. I have to give a shout out to Kadie Lynn and Jayna Brown, both who were eliminated in last night’s episode. Both of them should be very proud and I was completely blown away by their performances on Tuesday night. I’m sure that they will learn from this experience and become incredible stars in the near future. Now, the top 10 acts…
Laura Bretan: Like Jayna and Kadie, Bretan is an amazing singer. She always dazzles in every performance and her voice is breathtaking. Her opera-style voice is well seasoned that I have no doubt that she won’t disappoint in next week’s finale
Tape Face: This is a first that an act on AGT has made it to the finale and he hasn’t spoken a word and has not revealed his name. I guess that demeanor of his and hilarious performances made him a nation favorite. His last performance wasn’t particularly funny, but I hope to see something that will knock my socks off
Linkin Bridge: This group surprised me from the moment I saw them during auditions. The a Capella was captivating and each member has an amazing voice. During judge cuts, they got better. Their first live show performance was good but didn’t have that “wow” factor. However, Tuesday night’s performance was unbelievable. Even though they brought soundtrack into the mix, it was still spectacular. The brothers from Louisville are making Kentucky proud right and living proof that dreams do come true.
The Clairvoyants: The duo of Thommy and Amelie continue to impress the audience with their outstanding psychic abilities. Tuesday night’s performance made me questions if they were real life wizards. I’m just dumfounded how they predict everything. I could see them run a live show in Vegas.
Sal Valentinetti: The Jazz singer from New York is swinging away into the top 10. Every performance he delivers a unique, jazz rendition of modern day songs making him a favorite in this competition. From pizza delivery guy to Heidi’s golden buzzer act, Valentinetti can make it big in the music industry. My only question is, could he hold his own singing only jazz standards in Vegas? No matter what the outcome is, I’m sure his grandma is very proud to see him in the spotlights and singing his heart out.
Sofie Dossi: The 14 year old contortionist continues to blow me away. In every performance, I always see her signature bow and arrow routine. Making me believe she doesn’t have anything new or fresh to deliver. But, after seeing her last performance without using the bow and arrow, made me believe that she truly is a captivating performer, artist and aerialist. It’s amazing to know that she is self-taught and she’s able to do those things on her own. Even though she’s 14, she is mature enough to hold her own and command a stage. I could see her perform with Cirque Du Soleil.
Grace VanderWaal: This kid was made to be a star. She writes her own songs, plays the ukulele, has a unique voice and continues to wow America. I think her spirit and emotion sets her apart from the other contestants, specifically the singers. I loved every single performance she’s given and she should be very proud making it this far in the competition
Viktor Kee: It boggles my mind on why Kee was in the bottom 3 last night. Next to Sofie Dossi, Kee is a true performer. He’s more than a juggling act, although he’s probably the best juggler I’ve ever seen on the show. He’s done things that I’ve never seen a juggler do before. He’s just that good! I’m anxious how this experience will propel him into the future
Brian Justin Crum: This guy is probably my favorite singer in the competition. His voice and emotional performances make him standout as one of the best singers I’ve ever seen on the show. I loved his last 2 performances. But, his judge cut week performance is my favorite. He just gives me goosebumps every time he sings.
Jon Dorenbos: The NFL long snapper his making his brothers and family proud in Philadelphia. Who knew that the football player is also a wizard too? Dorenbos is my favorite variety act this season. I love magic, only the real impressive kind. He always impresses every week. You can tell that he’s passionate with what he does and is really likeable too.
I’m happy with this season’s top 10. Although, I’m kinda confused on why Tape Face is still in the competiton. I guess he’s just a crowd pleaser. If I had to pick, I would pick between either Brian Justin Crum or Jon Dorenbos to win. Those 2 have proven to me that they are worthy of the title and could hold an hour long show in Vegas. I would pay good money to see them both. Either way, all acts have great futures ahead of them. Can’t wait to see what happens next week!
