8 episodes into Survivor: Kaôh Rōng and a lot has happened. Tai actually got the immunity idol along with Kyle from the Brawn tribe and Neal from the Brain tribe. Unfortunately, Neal was pulled from the game due to a serious injury on his leg. The doctor feared that the cut could really damage his leg long term so he was pulled. On episode 4, the castaways were hit with a big heat wave during their challenge and Caleb, Cydney, and Debbie were all attended to for heat stroke and exhaustion. It was probably the biggest Survivor hit I’ve ever seen. Practically the entire staff on set attended to those 3 because it was really serious. Poor Caleb was ultimately medically evacuated due to exhaustion. If you saw that episode, you can see that the heat got to them and they were just done midway through the challenge. Now, we’ve hit the merge and Neal is the first member of the jury. Interesting that when Neal was pulled from the game, he didn’t give his idol away. Aubry was the only one that knew that Neal had the idol and she was hoping that she could have it. She could really use that idol right about now. As things stand right now, the Brawn and Beauty tribe are teaming up to take down the Brain tribe. Aubry, Joe and Debbie are left to fend for themselves as Michelle, Tai, Julia, Cydney, Scott, Kyle and Nick are in an “Alliance” and ready to go to the final 7 together. If there’s one thing I’ve learned watching Survivor, it’s that alliances are made to be broken and blindsides is the art of Survivor. It definitely showed on the last episode.
If there’s another thing that I learned, it’s that there is always somebody at the bottom in an alliance and not everyone likes each other in an alliance. Take Cydney and Nick for example. Cydney caught Nick mouthing off stuff to Aubry and it made her suspicious of him. One thing I hate about Nick is that he’s too arrogant. All this time, he thinks he’s top dog and running the show, just because he has the numbers. He even went to Aubry and told him his plan on the voting at tribal council. Half of the 7 are going to vote Debbie and the remainder will vote off Aubry. Really…how dumb could you get?? Cydney takes this advantage to ask the 3 brain members to vote off Nick because he’s too self-centered and can’t be trusted. She enlists Julia and Michelle of the plan but they’re too cautious and scarred if this plan doesn’t fall through. At tribal, secrets were revealed as some members of the 7 alliance didn’t know about a special immunity idol that could be played. Tai “accidentally” let slip about this special immunity idol. If 2 idols are played together, you can play it after the votes have been read. Poor Julia did not know about this information. GASP! It was funny because Kyle went on how the 7 alliance is strong and they’re going to the end together. HA! The look on Julia’s face just showed that she knew nothing about it at all. This made her rethink about her position within the alliance so her, Cydney and the 3 Brain’s plan worked and Nick was sent home.
Going forward, it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out. I, personally, don’t like Scot and Kyle. It sucks because they’re on the top right now, if you look at the numbers. Them both think that they’ll get to the end and they’re top dogs. I don’t like their attitude and arrogance; it really is starting to annoy me. It’ll be a happy day if they get blind sided in the future. My favorites right now are Tai, Aubry and Debbie. It was crazy how Tai won that immunity challenge against Cydney. He kind of reminds of Chochran. Just living proof that size doesn’t matter, anyone can win Survivor. With the idol in his back pocket and the alliance he’s in right now, he could be a major threat if he continues with the relationships he has and if he continues to win immunity challenges. Aubry is definitely in a bind. If she can get out if it and manage to make it to the last 3, I would want her to win. Debbie isn’t really a “favorite” it’s just her gameplay is different. I really can’t put my finger on it but if she ends up in the end and whatever she says to the jury, it could cost her a million dollars. We’ll just have to wait and see until May 18th, the season finale of Survivor
